“Okuizome” (First Meal)
”Okuizome” is an ancient Japanese traditional ceremony celebrated since the Heian period, performed around 100 days after the birth of the baby when the baby’s teeth start coming in. Family members gather to wish the baby will never worry about food for the rest of their life.
How to Wash and Care
For longterm beauty and cleanliness, please take the following steps after use.
- Please wash residue off after use as soon as possible. Leaving residue may cause stains and become difficult to remove.
- When washing, soak a sponge or soft cloth with a neutral dish detergent, and wash gently.
- Avoid cleansers, steel wool, polishing sponges, etc. as they may cause surface scratches and damage to the designs.
- Allow plenty of time to dry after washing and store in a dry place.
- For stubborn stains such as tea stains, you may use a commercially available oxygen-based kitchen bleach, but leaving it soaking may accelerate the deterioration of the decorative designs. Please follow the instructions on the label of the bleach product.
- Do not boil or heat the product in hot water (over 60 ° C). This may damage the surface or cause discoloration.

However, prolonged soaking in chlorine-based chemical solutions or microwave disinfection over 1 minute may accelerate clouding of the product’s luster.
