In October 2019, MIKI HOUSE conducted a survey amongst MIKI HOUSE Baby Club members regarding their concerns before and after childbirth. 1,350 pregnant women and 5,081 postpartum mothers participated in the survey.
The second highest concern pregnant women had regarding themselves was stretch marks. Stretch marks also ranked third highest for postpartum mothers. Many mothers also had other concerns such as rough skin, dryness, itchiness and other skin changes during pregnancy.
It seems that stretch marks are a concern not just for pregnant women, but postpartum mothers as well.
Some survey participants also commented that they noticed stretch marks on places besides their belly, such as their chest and buttocks, or that they did not notice stretch marks during their first pregnancy but did during their second pregnancy.
Using a specialized cream can moisturize and soften the skin to prevent stretch marks, which appear as the stomach rapidly expands. In addition, using a cream with ingredients that help with skin recovery can treat and moisturize existing stretch marks.
